Felipe N. Martins is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, where he is a member of the Sensors & Smart Systems research group and teaches courses in robotics and electronics in bachelor and master programs in Engineering.
Dr. Martins received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from UFES (Brazil), with research focusing on the control of electrical machines and the modeling and control of mobile robots. Before entering academia, he spent four years in industry working on the design and maintenance of industrial machines, an experience that informs his applied research approach. His current research focuses on applied robotics and autonomous systems, with a particular emphasis on industry-driven projects.
For over a decade, Dr. Martins has contributed to international robotics competitions, serving on organizing and technical committees for events such as RoboCupJunior. His open-access Robotics Simulation Labs support students worldwide, and his research contributions have been recognized with several awards. He also serves on the editorial board of the Automation journal (MDPI).
