Description

Wind and solar power generation will continue to grow in the energy mix of the future, but its inherent variability (intermittency) requires energy systems for storing electricity. Storage of electricity as methane from (bio)hydrogen gas and carbon dioxide is considered an interesting option. The surplus of electricity is used to produce bio-hydrogen from electricity.
