Abstract
State Secretary Uslu and the Council for Culture insist on the importance of fair pay by state-subsidized cultural institutions. Researcher and teacher trainer Imre Kruis points out that there is also a world to be gained in music education. The hourly rates of music teachers are lamentably low. 'I am writing this at a time when there is a lot of talk at tables about fair pay. If only it doesn't stop at talk, I hope.'
