Abstract

Wie iets wil maken moet zich verplaatsen in het materiaal. Dat spreekt uit alle grote oorsprongsverhalen van de kunst. Een klompje klei verandert in een mens mits de maker het materiaal begrijpt, en zich daarin bekwaamt. Hoofd, hand en materie moeten samenspelen. Dit principe is geldig in alle technieken, van ijle tekening tot stenen beeld. Zelfs computerkunst laat zich binnen deze voorwaarden beschrijven.
