    Abstract

People’s stories lie at the heart of this paper – stories about how people with vision and creative energy use the arts to address some of the challenges arising from feelings of isolation and dislocation in society. People have to be given the opportunity to speak, to be listened to, so that their observations and experiences can be fed into the wider debate about shaping the frameworks for ‘next’ practice
in learning and development in the arts.
