Description
The innovation lab Campus Design (CD) focuses on the sustainable development (SDG) of the campus through research and practice-oriented solutions. Based within the research group Facility Management at Hanze, CD collaborates with knowledge and educational institutions, authorities, and business, for example, to improve quality, hospitality, and inclusivity so that everyone feels welcome on campus. CD aims to enhance the on-campus connection between space and organization, including efforts to promote greening and biodiversity. We do so by connecting practical questions of educational institutions and businesses to applied research of our senior researchers, researchers, lecturers, and students in disciplines such as architecture, facility management, hospitality, the arts, and real estate. Our multidisciplinary approach is highly action-oriented; we strive to truly transform campus practices and demonstrate that these changes are both affordable and effective. By doing so, we ensure that solutions are not only theoretically and empirically robust, but also practically applicable and demonstrably beneficial. Through strong collaboration with our partners, CD generates solutions that inspire educational institutions and support them in implementing the SDGs.
