Mira Bloemen-Bekx is Dean of the Institute of Future Environments at the Hanze UAS, Groningen, the Netherlands. She became a Doctor in Business Economics spezializing in Entrepreneurship and Family Business in 2019, graduating from Hasselt University, Belgium. In het Institute, she works with professors and lecturers on themes such as healthy workplaces and health spaces, healthy city, sustainable built environment, climate adaptation, and earthquake resistent building. Her research interests cover innovation, stewardship, ownership, business families and succession. Prior to that, she had a career in marketing, working closely with family businesses, and as an entrepreneur and strategic marketing consultant for SMEs and family businesses.
