IBS participates in development of European collaboration on LNG

The International Business School will have an important role in the development of a strategic collaboration on cryogenic fuels (Bio-)LNG and Hydrogen between Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Klaipeda University (Lithuania), and Eindhoven University of Technology.


State visit King Willem-Alexander
The agreement on strategic collaboration was signed on June 15, 2018, in Vilnius (Lithuania) during the high level Bilateral Forum on Sustainable Energy that was organised on occasion of the state visit of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander to
Lithuania. The strategic agreement between the three universities was signed by drs. Henk J. Pijlman, the President of Hanze University of Applied Sciences, prof. dr. Artūras Razbadauskas, Rector ad interim of Klaipėda University (Lithuania), and prof. dr. Jacques Dam, on behalf of Eindhoven University of Technology.

University collaboration
The strategic collaboration between the universities will focus on the development of cryogenic fuels (Bio-)LNG and Hydrogen in an optimised, ecological, coupled, Hybrid Energy Network in a value chain context. It will address technical, environmental,
legal, and economic topics required for sustainable use of these fuels in the Baltic blue corridor as well as the creation of societal value through the development of an innovation ecosystem and new business opportunities.

Knowledge alliance
The following step in a strategic collaboration will be the establishment of a knowledge alliance within the framework of European Erasmus+ programme for the development of educational master level programmes and enhancing research on sustainaeble use of cryogenic fuels (Bio-)LNG and Hydrogen and value chain development. Simultaneously, the preparation of application for Horizon2020 funding alongside with the establishment of a broader knowledge and practice network will be started. 

IBS participation
The researchers, lecturers, and students of the International Business School will participate from the very beginning of this collaboration as development of busine ses and markets for cryogenic fuels (Bio-)LNG and Hydrogen is one of the main topics. The IBS senior researcher / lecturer dr. Beata Kviatek is directly involved in the development of this collaboration and can be approached for suggestions and expression of interest in participation.
