Title IBS energy minor students working on social strategies for green hydrogen Degree of recognition International Media name/outlet Hanze University Groningen Media type Web Country/Territory Netherlands Date 18/11/21 Description Twenty-five students of the energy minor Sustainable Energy Professional (SEP) from the International Business School at Hanze UAS, in collaboration with senior researcher Dr. Beata Kviatek, participated in a research and innovation
programme. In the past period they have been working on developing social strategies for the adoption of green hydrogen economy. They carried out this assignment under the scope of the Green Hydrogen Booster.
The purpose of the research project was to develop a number of strategies that can increase the social acceptance of green hydrogen technologies and the support for the development of a green hydrogen economy in the Northern Netherlands. The
results of the research project contribute to the establishment of an open innovation ecosystem around green hydrogen in the Northern Netherlands. This is one of the principles of the Green Hydrogen Booster SNN/ERDF project.
As a final product, the students made infographics to present the results of their work.
Below you will find some examples. The students came up with solutions such as setting up a social media campaign, with a focus on personal influence, perception of benefits and costs, and personal standards. Another group came up with a plan for an event that is completely focused on green hydrogen and its positive properties.
EnTranCe should leverage their connections with other organizations, universities and companies to engage these diverse groups, they advise.
Also this academic year, students of the IBS minor Sustainable Energy Professional will collaborate with Dr. Beata Kviatek on research within the Green Hydrogen Booster project. The new assignment focuses on improving and developing value chains for the mobility sector of the green hydrogen economy in the Northern Netherlands. The students will first study existing value chains and then suggest improvements for the
value chains for the mobility sector of the green hydrogen economy. The development of the regional green hydrogen economy is a complex task, because it encompasses
various aspects. Involving young people, the future energy and business professionals, in carrying out and solving these kinds of tasks is an important condition for success.Producer/Author Elizabeth Moorlag URL www.hanze.nl Persons Beata Kviatek
