Description
How can (new) forms of communication help us to emphasise the urgency and opportunities of climate adaptation regionally and (inter)nationally?👉 We are organizing parallel sessions on different communication tools that can impact climate adaptation:
1. VR: Marije Tempel showing us learned lessons in science- and climate communication through virtual pole expeditions (Arctic Explorer)
2. Climate Cafe: Floris Boogaard teaching us about the climate adaptation tour from roof to roof, bringing stakeholders together to discuss the current status quo and case questions concerning climate adaptation
3. Festivals: Rob van Wegen discussing with us the role festivals can play in climate adaptation. And how can festival goers and organisers - who function as a temporary community and direct channel - maximise impact?
4. Theater: Marline Lisette Wilders & Marian Counihan introduce us to theater as a route to social change in climate adaptation.
The workshops are part of the annual WOS event that is taking place on the 21st of March at House of Connections - Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. We invite you to an inspiring and interactive afternoon where we will take a closer look at climate adaptation and the role water plays in it. You can join us on the day for workshops, keynotes and the award ceremony of a video competition on ‘Climate and Sustainable Development in Cities’.
