Description

"This workshop will be an opportunity to experience first-hand and discuss an inclusive, hybrid (digital-physical) workshop format, empowering citizens to co-design their neighborhoods and make their voices heard in planning processes, while enabling professionals and municipalities to automatically gather and act on real-time, geo-tagged community insights. We will share insights from the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden, followed by a live hands-on demo based right in Reggio Emilia!

The workshop brings a playful, easy-to-join format that inspires participants to think critically and creatively. Using pens, phones, voices, and comments, leveraging generative AI we will blend the boundary between physical and digital. Using a deck of cards inspired by Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies, participants will be invited to challenge their perspective and thinking about the public spaces we share.

By imagining alternative urban futures together, the session builds data literacy, empathy, strengthens collective imagination, and sparks new ways of thinking about public space. All Placemaking Week participants will be invited to vote for the most surprising or inspiring visions created in a live voting tournament that will extend beyond the workshop. No tech skills are needed - just curiosity and imagination!

Come join us and discover next-generation tools for hybrid community engagement!"
