Presentation April 1, 2014 - Exchange week ‘Art as a Medium to Inclusion’.

Hanze University – Academy of Social Studies, Groningen. Research Group Lifelong Learning in Music. The presentation starts with a discussion of the origin of the power of music to function as an intervention to foster social inclusion. It then provides three examples from projects in the domain of Healthy Ageing through Music & the Arts: learning to play an instrument at an advanced age; creative music workshops for the elderly; and music & dementia.
