Description
Physiotherapy and DementiaPhysiotherapy in people with dementiaWe live in an aging society and old age is the greatest risk factor for developing dementia. The role of the physical therapist in people with dementia has so far been limited. The physiotherapist is used reactive for rehabilitation if, for example, a patient with dementia has fallen or if the dementia has progressed so far that washing and dressing has become a problem. But as a physiotherapist, we often do not really know what our options are and whether we can also preventively prevent functional deterioration. This lecture will discuss the latest scientific insights for the geriatric physiotherapist in the field of diagnostics, intervention and prevention of motor problems in people with dementia.
