The parliamentary inquiry committee drew harsh conclusions about Groningen has been discussed. This results in a debt of honour to the people of Groningen and North Drenthe: the area deserves a better future, economically and socially. For both agendas, 100 million per year is available for a generation to turn the tide. When accepting the assignment, the project manager for the social agenda was given a major assignment. Ensure that the region returns to the national average in the following four areas within 30 years: Improving (mental) health; Increasing the quality of life; Opportunities for children, young people and the next generation; Participating in work and reducing poverty. This assignment requires choices. Discussions were held about this with municipalities and the government with social institutions, schools, general practitioners, care providers, social initiatives and residents. In addition to four publicly accessible evenings and the input that this has yielded, a number of expert meetings were organised to discuss how the resources for the social agenda can best be deployed to achieve the goals.
